We
highly advise that you schedule a 30 to 60 day aerobic exercise program
including bicycling, stair climbing or any "step" and flexibility
exercises. Also, schedule 3-5 opportunities for horseback riding. The
better prepared you are, the more comfortable you will be and the more
fun you can have. Our experience is that the more territory we cover each
day, the more elk we will see, therefore the more mobile you are, the
better your chances of finding that trophy.
Our
suggestions of what you need to bring:
CLOTHING, HUNTING ITEMS AND PERSONAL GEAR
Leather footwear for walking
Extra pairs of warm socks
Felt lined boots/or good rubber ones for snow
Insulated underwear
A light jacket
A heavy winter coat
Extra shirts and pants (wool is best for snow)
Blaze orange hat or cap and vest or jacket-you need 500 square inches of blaze orange
Warm gloves (at least 2 pairs)
Rain gear for walking and riding
Rifle, scope, with carrying sling
Scope covers
2 or 3 boxes of ammunition
Hunting license
Hunter education card if born after 1949
Pocket and hunting knives
Sleeping bag comfortable to 0 degrees
Matches in a waterproof container
Lotion for sunburn and windburn
Binoculars
Camera
Two good jokes for each day

Extra batteries for flashlight
