Colorado Pheasant Hunting is spotty at best in the farming areas of our fine state, but when you come to Rocky Mountain Roosters you might think you are pheasant hunting in Kansas or South Dakota…without the drive!
Colorado Pheasant Hunting at its best can be yours with an Introductory Hunt at Rocky Mountain Roosters. This pheasant hunt is our hunt for a day, and it doesn’t require a membership. These hunts are available 7 days a week during our season and you have a choice of 3-hour hunts. You can hunt the morning from 8 am to 11 am, or the afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The cost is $225 per gun. Each hunter can shoot 5 birds, either sex …Pheasant or Chukar.
For the hunters with their own dogs, this is the ideal place to run your dogs with the opportunity to get into a lot of birds. For hunters that don’t have their own dogs, an experienced guide and dogs will be provided for an additional cost of only $50 for 1 to 4 hunters. We do not allow groups larger than four guns so that we can ensure a safe hunt and to give hunters a better opportunity for more shooting. If you have more than 4 hunters we will split you into two or more groups.
In addition to great Pheasant hunting in Colorado, Rocky Mountain Roosters also offers fantastic Bobwhite Quail hunts. These are our signature GIANT QUAIL hunts, and they aren’t giant birds, but it is a GIANT hunt! This hunt is an all day adventure and 1 to 4 hunters will start hunting at 8am and can harvest 100 birds as a group. The cost of this hunt is 0 for members or 50 for non-members. If you need a guide and dogs, the cost is an additional 0 for the day, not including gratuities. Quail hunting takes place between September 15 and December 15 only and must be reserved well in advance since we take a limited number of GIANT QUAIL hunts each year.
Hunts start at 8am and run until 11am, and again at 1pm until 4pm. Pick the time that is best for you and give us a call to schedule a reservation. All hunts are by reservation only.

yes, colorado requires a three shot limit for pheasants. nebraska and kansas do not require plugs for upland birds, so it is at the states discretion unless its a federally managed migratory species. in nebraska you can even shoot pheasants on the ground. dont know of many places you can do that.
