I strongly suggest going with a professional rafting company if you want to raft the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. I rafted down the Canyon myself, with a group of friends who had been rafting guides, for 14 days, and it was very hard work, and way too exciting for me! But the off-canyon's were beautiful, I did hike to some fantastic ledges above the Colorado River, swam in the mud bath area at the confluence, swam in Havasu creek (you need at least a day to hike up to Havasu Falls and back and I'd already done that on a backpacking week long trip to Supai Village, right above Hav…
